Forest Blog

I have decided that for this topic i will do a short film. I am confident enough that I will be able to foretell everything that I can in the short film. The documentary will only include an extract. I have officially decided that I will do the topic of the forest for the short film. I imagine that the story will be from the forests point of view. Therefore it will hold the audiences attention considering that these kind of idea isn’t used all that many times. Hearing people talk about why Nature should be preserved and cherished can lose the audiences attention since the same thing is told so many times. But seeing a movie by personifying the forest and giving it its own voice can be a different outcome altogether.

I have decided to do a short film about the Forest. People need to understand the value that nature gives us and we need to appreciate it more before its to late. Everyday our world becomes more and more polluted, we need movies such as this in order to keep us in our toes and do something before it is too late

In my class we have started learning and revising the different camera techniques in order to use them for our movie. Examples such as Establishing shot, Overview, Extreme long shot, Medium shot, Full shot and many others. By having different camera movements and perfecting them, the movie will look all the more intriguing for the audience.

I have started doing some research on short films. They are supposed to be at a maximum 5 minutes long. The movie itself needs to be catchy. Something that will grab the audiences attention and keep them there from the beginning to end. The movie will probably hold a catchy melody(non-diegetic sound effect) to go with the storyline. As for the storyline, still thinking.

When I was walking to school today, I noticed many people littering around. Much of the Forests have been cut down. There is less and less fresh air and the world is being consumed by dirty streets of the city. Everywhere I go I will see someone throwing the trash wherever they stand. Pollution is growing more by the day. If people don’t do something about it soon, it will be too late. There needs to be social awareness of the danger that may come sooner then we think.

In class we have started seeing different short films in order to get a better understanding on what we should do for our own short films. We spend a lesson seeing different sorts of short films and trying to gather different designs and proposition in order to get an idea on what would be best to put in our short films.

My class and I are starting to get more of a hang on the project as the days go by. To create a short film it takes different sort of Ideas. What topic you want to do, what seems more appealing towards the audience, what genre to pick. How long the movie should be. What kind of elements you need to add in order to make the short film as perfect as you can and what storyline seems the most intriguing.

In Media class we have started watching documentaries on how media is represented all around the world. What are most viewed and how it has reached the scale that we are on today.What would get the audiences attention, and what would gain the biggest profit to the movie house productions after releasing the movie. Due to the technology upgrading over the years, films have become one of the biggest influencers in the world. People focus most of their time in media and follow everything that it gives them.

This will be my first time doing a movie package and I can’t wait to get started. Here I will learn how to do A website, A postcard, A short film, A Storyboard, A script, and last but not least A creative critical Reflection in which I will discuss all of my progress from what I have done. The yeah has just started and I will do the best that I can in order to make this project a success. Despite there being more content to work on then the AS It will give us a chance to learn and grow in our education for the media world.
